When the founder of the Moro Foundation, Mrs. Irena Moro, who lived abroad and who is now a parent of students attending international schools, she became aware of what a young global traveller needs.
Students, who do not live in their home countries, in their “natural” environment, and who often do not have the usual broad social networks of family and friends that their local peers do, benefit greatly from an holistic education to fully develop their life skills (especially indispensable ones such as social, communicational and organisational skills) and from having positive attitudes towards their immediate and wider environments.
Students who move from school to school, from country to country, need to have positive attitudes towards learning, flexibility and to being equipped with good understanding of concepts and approaches to learning new skills, so as to cope when they move around the world.
That is why the Moro Foundation supports International Baccalaureate schools in Slovenia. The Moro Foundation contribution enables these schools to offer programmes and stimulating learning environments, which enrich students’ lives during their education and help them to develop and take active, informed actions later as adults.
Every child and youngster deserves to have a happy, socially rich youth and relevant education. The Moro Foundation strives to make a constructive contribution to this area, and we wish to encourage all others who can help and contribute, too!
