May 2014 – Children from Danile Kumar International School visited Idrija which is well known all over the world as the city with the mine for quicksilver, Idria’s lace and žlikrof. The chefs from restaurant Kos were teaching children how to prepare local delicious žlikrof, made from traditional receipt from 19th century. It is interesting that žlikrof is the first Slovenian food, protected at the European level.
After interesting culinary experience children also went to visit Kendov castle and they have been surprised with tasty sweets, compliments of Moro Foundation.
»We had a great time in Idrija. Again our students show how good they are in the kitchen! I am so proud of them. After the workshop for žlikrofi we had some free time for ice cream and then we went to Kendov dvorec where they were really nice and kind. They showed us around and prepare something sweet to eat,« said Miss Keli, their teacher.
